Tell Congress: It’s time to end child labor in the US NOW

Child labor, including the exploitation of unaccompanied migrant children, is growing rapidly in the US.  We need our legislators to take action to ensure a safer future for all children.

We're asking Congress to put a stop to child labor in the United States by following critical recommendations, compiled by the Coalition to End U.S. Child Labor. The Coalition, made up of representatives of non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and trade unions working in the fields of child labor and exploitation, labor rights, unaccompanied children, and children’s rights is calling for: 

1. The protection of unaccompanied migrant children. 

2. The closing of child labor loopholes between agricultural and non-agricultural work. 

3. Stronger penalties and increased enforcement. 

4. The creation of strong legislation to hold corporations accountable. 

5. Stronger labor rights and conditions. 

6. A social protection system which prevents all children and families from falling into poverty.
