GMO Inside - If corporations won't label GMOs, then we the people will.
Dear Green American ,

We're launching something big, and we're going to need your help to pull it off.

On Sunday, October 5, we'll be stirring up a social media storm with our National Day of Action for the "What the Starbucks?!" Campaign. With help from friends like Organic Consumers Association, Food Democracy Now!, Food Babe, Food Revolution Network, Friends of the Earth, and more, we're telling Starbucks we want #OrganicMilkNext - and this time, Starbucks will have to respond.

Since March 2014, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has received nearly 120,000 petitions asking for organic milk. Despite the overwhelming feedback, Starbucks has remained completely silent.

With what we know about the negative impacts of factory farms, GMOs, and pesticides, major corporations need to take the lead on sourcing responsible products - especially when tens of thousands of their customers demand it.

You can help Starbucks reach the tipping point. Will you stand in virtual solidarity with us by asking Starbucks for #OrganicMilkNext?

It's easy to get involved. Follow the instructions below, and get ready to hop online on Sunday, October 5.

What you’ll need:

  • #OrganicMilkNext flyer (print the PDF here)
  • Your Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram account
  • A camera or smartphone

What to do:

  1. Print the #OrganicMilkNext flyer
  2. Take a photo of yourself with the flyer*
  3. Write 1-2 sentences for the picture caption about why you want organic milk (sample text: “Starbucks, I want organic milk for a more sustainable food system! #organicmilknext”)
  4. Post your photo to Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram, and tag GMO Inside and 5 friends asking them to participate
  5. Share your photo on Starbucks' Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram accounts, using the hashtag #organicmilknext

If you want to do more:

  1. Print the #OrganicMilkNext flyer
  2. Record yourself in a quick video explaining why you want organic milk*
  3. Post your video to Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram (don't forget to tag GMO Inside, 5 of your friends, and use the hashtag #organicmilknext!)

*We need to take Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by storm on Sunday, October 5, but you can take your photo or record your video in advance! Just make sure it goes live online on 10/5/2014.
