Dear Green American ,
Yesterday, GMO Inside launched a major push to get Starbucks, one of the world's largest coffeehouse companies with nearly 20,000 retail locations in over 60 countries, to serve only organic milk from cows not fed GMOs. With its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Starbucks is already a leader in the coffee shop industry, serving rBGH-free dairy and USDA-certified organic soy milk.
So what's with the GMO dairy? Though Starbucks' dairy milk is rBGH-free, it is still sourced from cows raised on genetically modified feed.
It's no secret: organic is the best possible choice for people and the planet. In order to demonstrate a truly serious commitment to providing environmentally and socially conscious products, Starbucks needs to step up its game.
Find out why GMO Inside is advocating for the use of the precautionary principle when it comes to GMOs! This month's web exclusive comes from the first 2014 issue of the Green American.
