Dear Green American ,
We wanted you to be the first to know… We are live! Check out our brand new website – GMOinside.org.
On this site you will find actions to take, your own labels to download, and helpful resources to better understand GMOs. You can also read our blog and find the most recent GMO news articles.
If you have additional ideas for the site, please let us know. GMO Inside is a coalition, after all, of businesses, organizations, and thousands of individuals (18,000 and growing!) who believe that we all have a right to know what is in our food and the opportunity to choose foods that are proven safe and healthy for ourselves, our families and the environment.
Speaking of healthy food choices, breakfast is considered to be the most important and beneficial meals of the day, but not if it’s unknowingly filled with GMO ingredients. That’s why we are calling on two of the largest breakfast food manufactures – Kellogg’s and General Mills – to make a Fresh Start this month.
Kellogg’s and General Mills, both $13 Billion+ companies and makers of some of the most ubiquitous breakfast options including Cheerios, Corn flakes, Pillsbury and Pop Tarts, have worked to prevent our right to know which foods contain GMO ingredients. Together they spent almost $2 million to oppose Prop 37 in California and we want to make sure we deter them from doing this again in Washington or other states with GMO labeling initiatives.
Join us in targeting Kellogg’s and General Mills to make a Fresh Start in 3 ways:
||Sign the online petition
|| Take action on Facebook:
Each day we will shine our spotlight on a different Kellogg’s and General Mills product. This week will focus on General Mills’ brands starting with Cheerios. Next week we’ll turn the heat up on Kellogg’s. Check our Facebook page each day to see where we’re sending our collective consumer pressure.
|| Call the 800 number and tell each company what you think.
Kellogg’s – (800) 962 – 1413 (press 5 or 0)
General Mills – (800) 248 – 7310
As always, make sure to tell your friends and family when you take action and encourage them to do the same.
